This sculpture portrays the irony between delicate, porcelain infant heads and the aggressive, violent handguns it stands on, while there are torn-apart toy soldiers all over it. It's somewhat of a more political piece about the desensitization of violence in younger people nowadays due to hyper-exposure and easy access to it through the internet and fast-paced media. I was inspired by my experience as a South American and all the urban violence we see daily in the media or even in real life.
It was created using the slip casting technique and out of molds from found objects (baby head, toy handgun, toy soldiers, and Japanese fan).
