What's interesting about this piece is that the steps I took to create it were completely different than what I normally do as part of my creative process as a fine artist.

The idea behind this sculpture actually came visually to me in a dream first. I remember waking up and immediately sketching it.
Later on, when I was struggling to find inspiration and start a new artwork, I decided to just create what I had sketched from that dream and see where that would take me.

After finished, this piece remained untitled and with no conceptual meaning for quite a while. I had to reflect on it for a long time to try and understand why my subconscious had fabricated such an image in that dream. It was a unique experience to interpret my own artwork.

Conceptually I’d say this piece addresses the artistic ego. It's about how we as fine artists create this alternate world/reality that our art lives in, where we have absolute power over it and that only we are able to fully understand.
